Comparative virulence of three Trypanosoma evansi isolates from water buffaloes in the Philippines

► Virulence of three Trypanosoma evansi isolates in the Philippines was compared. ► Mice were inoculated with 0.2 ml of each isolates and blood was examined. ► Mortality rate, parasitemia level, clinical signs, and lesions were determined. ► Statistical analysis revealed significant difference among isolates. ► T. evansi Visayan isolate was more virulent in terms of mortality rate.
