Trials for the co-expression of the merozoite surface protein-1 and circumsporozoite protein genes of Plasmodium vivax

► MSP and CSP genes of Plasmodium vivax were co-expressed in E. coli. ► Molecular weight of chimeric recombinant protein has an about 25 kDa. ► It showed 94.78% of sensitivity in serodiagnosis of vivax malaria patients. ► It is able to induce an active immune response in BALB/c mice.
