►Among the OCPs analyzed, DDTs were the most prevalent agent.► Lower DDE/DDT ratio in the Fujian rural area suggested recent intake of DDT.► Animal food consumptions were correlated to DDTs concentrations in breast milk.► The mean EDIs of various OCPs by Chinese infants were lower than the TDI guidelines.
