Individual metal-bearing particles in a regional haze caused by firecracker and firework emissions

► TEM was used to observe the aged individual particles from firecrackers/fireworks during the Chinese New Year. ► Many fine metal-rich particles were emitted during fireworks and transported long distance. ► Emissions from fireworks/firecrackers can deteriorate air quality and cause a regional haze during the Chinese New year.
