PCDD/PCDF behavior in low-temperature pyrolysis of PCP-contaminated sandy soil

► Formation, dechlorination and destruction of PCDD/Fs were observed. ► The highest PCDD/F formation at 250 °C while the highest toxicity was measured at 300 °C. ► OCDD is the most dominant congener and OCDF is the second prevailing congener. ► PCDD/Fs can be removed and desorbed into gaseous phase with the acceptable level at 350 °C.
