Herbicide contamination and dispersion pattern in lowland springs

► We evaluated herbicide contamination and dispersion pattern in lowland springs. ► Terbuthylazine were the only herbicide found, together with its metabolite desethylterbuthylazine. ► Herbicide in spring water could originate up to 1800 m in the recharge basin. ► Detected herbicide concentrations were not a direct threat for the biota.
