Synergy of satellite and ground based observations in estimation of particulate matter in eastern China

► Artificial neural network algorithm is developed for estimation of PM by synergy of satellite and ground based observations. ► Correlation between observed and estimated PM is observed to follow noticeable downward trend with increasing PBLH. ► The overall accuracy of PM retrieval from ANN is found to be good enough to estimate PM concentrations in eastern China.
