Health impact assessment and monetary valuation of IQ loss in pre-school children due to lead exposure through locally produced food

► Children's exposure to Pb through the consumption of local food stuff was assessed. ► We addressed the full chain from policy scenarios to monetary valuation. ► We compared Business as Usual (BAU) with most feasible technical reductions - MFTR. ► We provide estimates for external exposure, Pb blood levels and the loss of IQ. ► The calculated costs underestimate real costs entailed in Pb exposure.
