Effect of the magnetic membrane magnetization on the oxygen solubility

The effect of magnetic field on the solubility of magnetic membranes is investigated. As a result, a conclusion is drawn that the solubility is not altered on the gas–polymer interface but may be altered to a significant degree in the vicinity of the, so-called, magnetic channels that form close to the magnetic particles suspended in the polymer matrix.

• Energetic and entropic contributions to the solubility are carefully evaluated.
• The effect of the magnetic field on the solubility in the magnetic membrane bulk turns out negligible.
• The role of the solubility effect in the magnetic channel turns out to be significant.
