Simulation of the interannual variations of biogenic emissions of volatile organic compounds in China: Impacts on tropospheric ozone and secondary organic aerosol

► We have updated land cover and leaf area index in China in MEGAN to estimate BVOCs. ► Simulated isoprene emissions in China have large interannual variations of 15-42%. ► Simulated monoterpene emissions in China have large interannual variations of 10-32%. ► Interannual variations of BVOCs can lead to 2-5% differences in O3 and SOA in July.
