Mathematical modeling of the extraction of uranium(VI) into a polymer inclusion membrane composed of PVC and di-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid

► Polymer inclusion membranes (PIMs) extract U(VI) from H2SO4 solutions. ► These PIMs are made of PVC and di-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid (D2EHPA). ► The effect of the main parameters of the PIM-uranium extraction system is studied. ► A mathematical model of the PIM-uranium extraction system is developed. ► It is used to determine the PIM extraction constant and diffusion coefficient.
