Integration of soil moisture in SEBS for improving evapotranspiration estimation under water stress conditions

► Soil moisture was integrated to SEBS, modifying the excess resistance term kB−1. ► Passive microwave SM data was used as additional input to SEBS in daily ET mapping. ► An improved mapping of evapotranspiration under water-limited conditions. ► The new approach was validated by comparing with Bowen ratio measurements.
