Use of remote sensing to identify areas of groundwater upwelling on active glacial floodplains: Their frequency, extent and significance on a landscape scale

► Spatial extent and ecological importance of groundwater upwellings are quantified. ► Model identifies glacial floodplains (minimum 88% accuracy). ► Model then locates groundwater upwellings within floodplains (100% accuracy). ► Remote sensing provides an economically viable alternative to field reconnaissance.
