Correcting AVHRR Long Term Data Record V3 estimated LST from orbital drift effects

► LTDR retrieved LST time series are flawed by NOAA's orbital drift effect. ► A correction of NOAA's orbital drift effect is presented for LTDR LST. ► Correction errors on simulated LST time series are in all cases below 0.9 K. ► The correction provides a better temporal homogeneity of LTDR LST time series. ► This research allows for a multitemporal analysis of LTDR LST time series.
