Preparation and testing of a solid secondary plasticizer for PVC produced by chemical degradation of post-consumer PET

Post-consumer PET was chemically degraded by glycolysis in a melt mixer with very low amount of glycol. The most performing product was used as secondary plasticizer for PVC-based resins improving both the processing behavior and the thermal stability of the final flexible PVC compounds while maintaining their hardness and reducing the plasticizer migration.179
