Bioefficacy and fate of fipronil and its metabolites in basmati rice under sub-tropical climatic conditions

► Fipronil was chosen for the management of the basmati stem borer and leaf folder. ► The residues of fipronil and its metabolites were maximum at seven days. ► Sulfone was dominating metabolites, followed by sulfide, amide and desulfinyl. ► Fipronil residues were not detected 45 days after the application at recommend dose. ► Basmati rice substrates at harvest time do not posses any residue of fipronil.
