Susceptibility of stem and root tissues of tobacco cultivars carrying or not the Ph gene to Pythium stem rot, caused by Pythium aphanidermatum

► Cvs NC71 and RJR15 were less susceptible to P. aphanidermatum than K326 and K346. ► Parts of the plant shown significant differences to Pythium stem rot infection. ► Cvs with Ph were not more susceptible to Pythium stem rot than cvs without Ph.
