Impact of aggregate coating with a PEC elastomer on properties of lightweight flax shive concrete

▶ With the PEC elastomer coating of flax shives, the purpose to design insulating concrete is reached while consuming much less energy than thermal processes. ▶ Compatibility between lignocellulosic aggregates and cement is improved. ▶ The treatment process uses agriculture byproducts and organic reagents non-toxic to the environment. ▶ This coating is an alternative to cement-sucrose and oil coatings encountered in the literature.
