Discovery of lunasin peptide in triticale (X Triticosecale Wittmack)

► Several plants were screened for presence of anti-cancer peptide lunasin. ► Lunasin was discovered in triticale (X Triticosecale Wittmack). ► We report first data of lunasin content in cereals grown in Northern Europe. ► Triticale was the most lunasin-rich cereal tested here.
