Improved high-throughput bioassay for Rhyzopertha dominica (F.) (Coleoptera: Bostrichidae)

► A high-throughput bioassay is needed to screen potential biopesticides in Rhyzopertha dominica. ► We describe a new egg yolk/yeast/amylopectin artificial bioassay diet for R. dominica larvae. ► Tests were evaluated by X-ray or weighing containers of infested larvae at specific timepoints. ► The method allows fast and cost effective screening of potential biopesticides for R. dominica.
