Effect of PLA lamination on performance characteristics of agar/κ-carrageenan/clay bio-nanocomposite film

► We prepared PLA laminated bionanocomposite of agar, carrageenan, and clay. ► The laminated film had good mechanical, gas barrier, and thermal stability properties. ► The laminated film can be used for environmentally sound packaging material. ► The laminated film has a high potential for application in food packaging.
