Decolorization of synthetic dyes by immobilized spore from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens

► A novel alkaline-stable spore laccase was immobilized in calcium alginate beads. ► Acetosyringone was screened as the most efficient mediator for dye decolorization. ► The immobilized spore was reused for fifteen times in indigo carmine decolorization. ► More than 82% of the simulated dye effluent was decolorized after 6 h at pH 9.0.
