Highly efficient room-temperature oxidation of cyclohexene and d-glucose over nanogold Au/SiO2 in water

► Au/SiO2 catalysts suspended in 30% hydrogen peroxide using ultrasound. ► Cyclohexene oxidized with 67.6% conversion at 80 °C. ► Cyclohexene oxidized with 55.0% conversion at room temperature. ► Oxidation of d-glucose to d-gluconic acid with 100% conversion in 15 min.
