Facile synthesis of nano-structured magnetite in presence of natural surfactant for enhanced photocatalytic activity for water decomposition and Cr (VI) reduction

Nano-structured G-Fe3O4 and Au/G-Fe3O4 are synthesized in the presence of aqueous leaf extract of Averrhoa carambola, a natural, nontoxic surfactant and reductant. The prepared G-Fe3O4 and Au/G-Fe3O4 are found efficient towards reduction of Cr (VI) and hydrogen generation, respectively.51
