Effects of Stefan flow and CO oxidation on char particle combustion in O2/CO2 atmosphere

► A combustion model of char particle with Stefan flow and CO oxidation is presented. ► The model gives better predictions for the temperature and burnout of char. ► Effect of Stefan flow and CO oxidation is related to the combustion state of char. ► Notable effects on the burnout time occur in kinetic-diffusion controlled region. ► Effects on the burnout time are smaller in the diffusion-controlled combustion.
