Gasification kinetics during entrained flow gasification - Part I; Devolatilisation and char deactivation

- Coal devolatilisation is measured at pressures of up to 4.0 MPa.
- A coal devolatilisation model is validated for entrained flow gasification conditions.
- Thermal annealing of char is found to be significant under entrained flow conditions.
- Char deactivation is measured and a model is developed and validated.
