Enhancing the viscoelastic properties of bituminous binders via thiourea-modification

► Use of thiourea as an alternative to the classic bitumen modification by polymers. ► Bitumen modification by thiourea endows the binder with enhanced resistance to permanent deformation. ► It also significantly increases binder flexibility at low temperature by decreasing its glass transition temperature.
