A thermodynamic study of solute-solvent interactions through dielectric properties of the mixtures consisting of 1,4-butanediol, 1-octanol, and 1,4-dioxane at different temperatures

► Positive ΔFE values were obtained over the whole composition range. ► Heterogeneous interactions are significant in (1,4BD + 1OCT) mixtures. ► Mixing rules predict permittivity of 1,4BD in 1,4DX acceptably.
