Enthalpy-entropy compensation for n-hexane adsorption on HZSM-5 containing transition metal ions

► Enthalpy-entropy compensation for n-hexane adsorption on ion-exchanged ZSM-5 zeolites is shown. ► Linearity of −ΔH vs. −ΔS plots was found for all investigated ZSM-5 zeolites. ► This effect depends on the size, charge and electron configuration of the cations. ► Compensation temperature correlates to the number of zeolites' strong acid centres. ► Compensation effect was not found for the adsorption of n-hexane on X and Y zeolites.
