Aqueous biphasic systems involving alkylsulfate-based ionic liquids

► K3PO4, K2CO3, Na2CO3, and (NH4)2SO4 act as phase promoter in aqueous solutions of ILs. ► Remarkable influence of alkyl-chain length on solubility curves of alkylsulfate-based ILs. ► Merchuck correlation was used for describing these systems. ► ΔShyd and Hofmeister series were used to discuss the different salting out effects.
