Compared with other making methods, vacuum binary ice making is high in efficiency, simple in structure and easy to operate. In this paper, a mathematical model for the entire process including flash evaporation and ice making in vacuum environment is established. The binary ice-vacuum experimental system is introduced. Experimental and simulation studies of IPF (ice packing factor) influencing factors for vacuum binary ice making method were carried out. Those factors include environmental temperature, environmental pressure, water temperature, droplet size and droplet initial velocity. The results show that the binary ice's IPF are related to environmental pressure, droplet size, initial velocity and flash chamber size, less affected by environmental temperature and water temperature.
