Optimizing solid oxide fuel cell cathode processing route for intermediate temperature operation

► La0.6Ca0.4Fe0.8Ni0.2O3 electrodes were produced at a range of temperatures. ► The fully reacted powder is obtained at low temperature (600 °C). ► Symmetrical cells were produced by spray technique. ► Porous microstructure is obtained at low sintering temperatures (800 °C). ► Overall processing route is optimized with no detrimental effects on performance.
