Building resilience to overheating into 1960's UK hospital buildings within the constraint of the national carbon reduction target: Adaptive strategies

► We have measured the environmental performance of a representative type UK hospital building. ► We have assessed its resilience to overheating until 2080; it is surprisingly resilient. ► We propose and model five adaptive refurbishment options. ► The more passive options yield the greater resilience but cooling will be required from 2040 on.
