Involvement of orexin in the regulation of stress, depression and reward in alcohol dependence

► We investigate orexin plasma concentrations in inpatients during alcohol withdrawal. ► We found a positive correlation between orexin and psychological distress symptoms. ► Our findings suggest an involvement of orexin in impaired brain stress systems.
