Optimizing lipase production from isolated Burkholderia sp.

► Systematic strategies for improving Burkholderia lipase production were established. ► After optimization, the maximum lipase production was increased to 22.6 U/ml. ► The Burkholderia lipase exhibits good thermal and pH stabilities. ► Production of the Burkholderia lipase was successfully scaled up to 5 l fermentor.
