A convenient one-pot synthesis of 2-substituted benzimidazoles

2-Substituted benzimidazoles have been synthesized in excellent yields in a single pot under solvent-free conditions from o-phenylenediamine and aldehydes in the presence of a catalytic amount of In(OTf)3 at room temperature.
