Photocatalytic activity and mechanism of nano-cubic barium titanate prepared by a hydrothermal method

► The BaTiO3 was first synthesized using P25-TiO2 and Ba(OH)2 as starting materials. ► This study used P25-TiO2 as a starting material due to of its low cost, stability, and nontoxicity. ► The lower Eg of BaTiO3 has a positive effect on photocatalytic activity. ► Intermediates were separated using HPLC-MS to propose the possible mechanism.
