Assessment of adhesion and surface properties of polyurethane coatings based on non-polar and hydrophobic soft segment

- A series of polyurethane formulation were synthesized based on PPG/HTPB mixture as a soft segment.
- The micro-hardness behavior (elastic recovery and elastic-plastic deformation) of samples was detailed.
- Regarding macro properties, an interpretation of interesting surface behavior was suggested.
- The optimized PU formulation shows enough adhesion to substrate and hydrophobic properties as well.
- Compared to the polyolefins, synthesized PU coatings could be more practical to achieve desirable surfaces.
