The improvement of anticorrosion properties of zinc-rich organic coating by incorporating surface-modified zinc particle

► The corrosion behaviors of zinc-rich coating were characterized. ► Surface modification of zinc particle was carried out in the aqueous solution. ► Derivatives of phosphoric and phosphonic acid was employed for the modification. ► The electrochemical activity of the zinc particle was lowered by the modification. ► Corrosion resistance was improved mainly due to the decrease of zinc activity.
