Mass transport in porous media from first principles: An experimental and theoretical study

▸ Helium transport through a zeolite membrane was experimentally measured. ▸ Transport trough zeolite pores was determined by removing transport through defects. ▸ The transport in pores was determined as function of loading of hexane and benzene. ▸ It varied several orders of magnitude depending on loading and location. ▸ Percolation models with parameters estimated by DFT-LDA could describe the results.
