Influence of film thickness on the structure and properties of PDMS membrane

▸ PDMS membranes with average thicknesses from about 0.2 to 150 μm were prepared. ▸ Thinner membranes exhibited more crystalline and chain aggregation defects. ▸ Influence of membrane thickness on organic-water separation was examined. ▸ High benzene selectivity for thicker and high flux for thinner membranes.
