Reduction of fouling on poly(lactic acid) hollow fiber membranes by blending with poly(lactic acid)-polyethylene glycol-poly(lactic acid) triblock copolymers

▸ PLA-PEG-PLA copolymers were used as hydrophilic additives for PLA hollow fiber membranes. ▸ PLA-PEG-PLA copolymers showed good compatibility with PLA polymer. ▸ The residual ratio of PLA-PEG-PLA copolymers in membrane was high. ▸ Anti-fouling properties of the membranes were remarkably improved by adding PLA-PEG-PLA.
