Characteristics of the photosynthesis microbial fuel cell with a Spirulina platensis biofilm

►A mediator-free and membrane-less PMFC was devised with Spirulina platensis as the biofilm. ►The chlorophyll content of the biofilm attributed the PMFC's electricity performance. ►The algae were cultivated under the light conditions for PMFC regeneration. ►The PMFC system was employed for continuous electrical power generation.
