An efficacious degradation of pesticide by salt tolerant Streptomyces venezuelae ACT 1

► Marine isolate, Streptomyces venezuelae ACT1 was used for the degradation. ► Organophophorus hydrolase activity rate was evaluated using modified Gompertz model. ► Substrate assimilation and inhibition were analyzed for the growth and the enzyme activity. ► Influence of P0/X0 ratio on degradation as well as COD reduction rate was demonstrated.
