Catalytic steam gasification of pig compost for hydrogen-rich gas production in a fixed bed reactor

► Hydrogen-rich gas produced from catalytic steam gasification of pig compost (PC). ► NiO/MD catalyst had a high activity of cracking tar and upgrading the gas quality. ► NiO/MD catalyst lived a long lifetime in the pig compost (PC) steam gasification. ► The optimal operating parameters for catalytic steam gasification of PC were found.
