Diversity of a mesophilic lignocellulolytic microbial consortium which is useful for enhancement of biogas production

► A mesophilic lignocellulolytic microbial consortium BYND-5 was established. ► ARDRA of 16S rDNA clone library was used to reveal the diversity of BYND-5. ► More than 49.0% rice straw was degraded after 7 days of cultivation at 30 °C. ► BYND-5 can obviously enhance the biogas yield and methane content.
