Purification and characterization of maltooligosaccharide-forming α-amylase from moderately halophilic Marinobacter sp. EMB8

► First report of amylase from Marinobacter sp. ► The amylase is purified to homogeneity and characterized. ► The enzyme is heat and solvent stable. ► It produces maltotriose and maltotetraose upon starch hydrolysis. ► They can be useful in bread making industries for effective antistaling effect.
