An analysis of lignin removal in a fixed bed reactor by reaction of cereal straws with ozone

► Cereal straws (rye and wheat) were pretreated with ozone. ► The influence of ozonation time on lignin and monosaccharides production was studied. ► Concentration profiles along a fixed bed reactor are shown. ► Ozonation time of 2 h has to be selected. ► A dynamic study is presented. Kinetic parameters are determined.
