Efficient saccharification of ammonia soaked rice straw by combination of Clostridium thermocellum cellulosome and Thermoanaerobacter brockii β-glucosidase

► Thermoanaerobacter brockii β-glucosidase (CglT) enhanced cellulolytic activity of cellulosomes. ► Cellulosome-CglT system was very efficient in rice straw hydrolysis. ► Required cellulosome-CglT loading was much lower than Trichoderma reesei cellulase system. ► Ammonia treated rice straw hydrolysate was fermented to ethanol without inhibition.
