Mixotrophic cultivation of Chlorella pyrenoidosa with diluted primary piggery wastewater to produce lipids

► Diluted primary piggery wastewater was treated with mixtrophic microalgae. ► Biomass productivity positively correlates to initial COD values (250-1000 mg/L). ► Ammonium removal reached 90% for all diluted samples. ► Much higher lipid productivity was achieved for mixtrophic vs photoautotrophic culture.
